The BJP on Thursday alleged that the State Government’s claim of getting World Habitat Award for its Jaga Mission is not true at all.
“The winner of the World Habitat Award is given a gold medal. The Odisha Government’s Jaga Mission had entered the final round of the award. But the ActionAid India and Spain’s Viviendas par alas Entidades Socials’, which were working in tribal areas in Karnataka, have got the gold medal. Other finalists are given silver and bronze medals as per rules. So, the claim of winning the award is very wrong,” alleged BJP state secretry Dr Lekhasri Samantsinghar.
Stating that the State Government had targeted to give land certificates to 10 lakh slum dwellers under the Jaga Mission, Samantsinghar further alleged that Government submitted a wrong figure of 18 lakh beneficiaries which has been put in the website of the World Habitat.
She demanded that the Government provide land rights certificates (LRC) to slum dwellers soon instead of making false claims.
Among others, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national vice president Thakur Ranjit Dash and State spokesperson Urmila Mohapatra were present.
