India Post Director Pawan Kumar Singh on Saturday inaugurated a special cover and a stamp on Nabakalebar and Rath Yatra here. The stamp valued at Rs10 carries images of the Shree Jagannath temple, the Neelachakra and the three chariots. The State Tourism Department prepared a special cover containing some beautiful pictures and a brief description about the ritual.
Senior superintendent of Bhubaneswar Postal Circle Srikant Kar and sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik were present, among others. On the occasion, an exhibition of rare postal stamps was also held. Hundreds of school and college students visited the exhibition. Earlier, the Postal Department had released stamps and a cover on composer of Geet-Gobind famous poet Jaydeb in 2009 and on Rath Yatra in 2010.
