A delegation of the Consumer lawyers’ Association on Sunday met Ganjam district Collector Prem Chandra Chaudhury and requested him to solve the stalemate in the District Consumer Redressal Forum.
The delegation besides submitting a memorandum to the Collector held discussions regarding the impasse and dispute in the Consumer Redressal Forum.
The delegation said the forum was set up to solve the problems and disputes of consumers and protect their rights. But for the last few days, the forum’s president and the members are at loggerheads. Due to this the consumers are being put into great inconvenience. last week the situation turned volatile, which was strongly protested by them.
The Collector assured the delegation that he would take the necessary steps. President of lawyers’ forum Siva Prasad Mishra, secretary Satish Panigrahi, former president Kailash Mishra and members laxminarayan Dash were present.
