The State Government on Friday said it would soon appoint technical staff required for the operation of costly linear Accelerator (lINAC) machine installed at the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Research Centre (AHRCRC) in Cuttack. Health and Family Welfare Minister informed this in the Assembly in response to a query by Prafulla Samal and Aswhini Kumar Patra (both BJD).
The Minister said technical staffs approved by the Atomic Energy Regulation Board would be appointed for the machine. Notably, the lINAC machine was purchased at a cost of Rs 30 crore and has been installed at the AHRCRC for treatment of cancer patients.
