BJP workers led by Sushanta Mishra and Irasis Acharya locked Bhuta CHC Hospital under Ambavona Block of Bargarh district on Friday.
The block is on the border of Chhatishgarh and almost all the inhabitants are tribal.
Although thousands depend in the hospital yet it is running with a pharmacist and an Ayush doctor only. The agitators alleged that the doctors who are running the hospital were transferred to the Bijepur hospital keeping in the view the by-election of Bijepur. Now the three PHCs like lakhanpur, Ambavona and Dungari under Bhukta CHC have been running without required manpower.
They agitators demanded immediate steps to fill the vacant posts of doctors and other staff. They also threatened to intensify their stir if the problem was not sorted out in a week.
Among others, Torachand Patel, Shyamlal Nayak, Gunaru Padhan, Sudhir Padhan and Dr Chintamani Patel were present.
