Attending the inaugural ceremony of the three-day centenary celebration of the PR High School here that concluded on Thursday, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced to set up an indoor stadium at the school field to boost sports and other activities.
The Minister lauded the efforts of the people, who had established the school way back in 1916. Similarly, School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishap announced setting up of a science laboratory at the school. Editor of vernacular daily Sambad Soumya Rajnjan Pattnaik, Professor Madusudan Pati, Patnagarh MlA KV Singh Deo also spoke.
On the concluding day, leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, and MPs AU Singh Deo and MP Kalikesh Narayn Singh Deo spoke on the efforts and contributions of Pruthwiraj Singh Deo in establishment of the school. The leaders reiterated their commitments to work together for development of Balangir. later, AU Singh Deo unveiled a statue of Pruthwiraj Singh Deo at the school premises. Various cultural events were held on these three days.
