Sr citizens' vehicles won't be checked in B'pur

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide optimum security and comfort to senior citizens, the Brahmapur police have decided to affix a particular sticker on their vehicles so that they would not be subjected to regular vehicle checking in the city.

SP Asish Singh said this at the identity card distribution campaign held at the Gosaninuagaon police station.

“Senior citizens should not be stopped for vehicle checking. A particular kind of sticker will be given to them with the help of the district administration. Vehicles affixed with those stickers will not be checked,” said the SP.

It may be noted that help cells have been opened at different places for attending to grievances of the senior citizens. Police officials in charge of the help desks have been asked to visit senior citizens residing alone in their house to inquire about their problems once every 15 days.

Sub-Collector Er Sidharth Sankar Swain told senior citizens to inform him if they face any problem in getting pension.

Among others, ASP Santanu Dash, ASP Trinath Patel and SDPO Pravat Routray were present. A total of 98 senior citizens were distributed identity cards on the occasion.
