S'pur Manch for autonomy to VIMSAR

The Sambalpur Bikash Manch (SBM), a leading organisation of the district to fight against corruption and social injustice, has come forward with suggestions before the State Government for upgradation of the VIMSAR at Burla.

The Manch demanded complete autonomy to the medical college and hospital (MCH) on matters of finance and recruitment. It has further demanded to change the recruitment policy so that sincere and eligible doctors could be appointed in the MCH.

“The recruitment done by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) doesn’t match the requirement of the institution and hence, a change in the procedure to keep VIMSAR active and alive is necessary,” said Manch convenor Debashis Purohit. It further demanded to stop all recruitment procedures by the OPSC since it had been hardly helpful for the VIMSAR.

“Due to faulty selection procedure by the OPSC, 20 doctors have already left VIMSAR and only four have joined,” the Manch stated, suggesting that the guideline for appointment to all three medical colleges of the State should not be applied to VIMSAR since Burla is a totally different case.

The Manch also demanded special package to the faculties interested to join VIMSAR so that they can serve here with all sincerity and will not express interest to leave.

The Manch also suggested of holding the governing body (GB) meeting of VIMSAR at Burla itself instead of at Bhubaneswar.
