With the arrest of a retired clerk of Sambalpur tehsil office, the people here are hopeful of getting justice and opening of the masks of many big shots of the revenue department in a land scam.
The accused whom Ainthapali police arrested for different irregularities during his period in revenue matters and mutation of land is Anand Mishra. Surprisingly, immediately after an irregularity in mutation work, Mishra also tendered voluntary resignation from the tehsil office long back.
As per information, after the irregularities in the land deal of former IPS officer Ashok Dogra came to light and one ill-reputed land broker Sudhansu Behera got arrested, the involvement of many Revenue officers is under scanner by police. Mishra was arrested as per the preliminary investigation in the case.
Police also established the involvement of the former clerk in this unfair land deal where the land broker sold the land of the retired IPS officer without his knowledge.
Dogra came to know by virtue of RTI query that in the year 2011 his land in Ainthapali area was transferred to another’s name and mutation for the work was done in the Sadar tehsil of Sambalpur.
After an FIR by Dogra in Ainthapali police station, police conducted an investigation and found an illegal land deal by Sudhansu Behera, a land broker. At the same time police also found the involvement of Mishra in all the official matters in the tehsil office.
“In the first phase, we arrested Sudhansu Behera. Next, we arrested Mishra,” informed the IIC of Ainthapali police station Srimant Barik.
“It could not be a singular affair. We are also trying to unearth the involvement of others in this case,” Barik added.
It is further a fact that there were a series of allegations against Behera earlier both in Revenue Department and before police. But he was given protection by both sides. But when it came to a retired police officer, police swung into action. It is further a fact that if an impartial investigation is made, the involvement of many others of the tehsil office.
