A senior Special Protection Group (SPG) official on Wednesday held discussions with the Commissionerate police for providing foolproof security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here.
He also took stock of the security arrangement at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, the Janata Maidan, venue for the BJP national executive meeting, and the lingaraj Temple. A meeting chaired by the ADM was held for Modi’s visit to the temple. It has been decided to present the Prime Minister with a Khandua Pata dress and lord lingaraj’s famous Prasad Kora Khai.
Sources said three temporary stages would be erected at Airport Square, Raj Bhavan and Jayadev Vihar Square where the PM is expected to address crowds. Besides, traditional dances like Odishi, Goti Pua and Paika Akhara would be performed to welcome the Prime Minister.
Already, hoardings of the Prime Minister and BJP national president Amit Shah have flooded the roads from the city airport to the Raj Bhavan, where Modi would stay.
Also, hoardings about the Modi Government’s welfare schemes and assistance to the State in comparison to the UPA Government’s have been put up. Besides, the Odia New Year, which is coinciding with Shah’s visit on April 14, would also be celebrated by the BJP.
