All the transport vehicles having eight seats and weighing over 3,500 kg are bound to instal speed governors in them, informed Commerce Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi in the State Assembly of Saturday.
In response to a question of BJD MlA Priyadarshi Mishra, the Minister said that installation of speed governors in the above category transport vehicles has been mandatory since November 1, 2016. The vehicles with a speed governor can’t run at a high speed, and hence, there would be less possibility of accidents, the Minister said.
