Special OJEE for vacant seats today

Published on:

Around 12,000 students would sit for a Special Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)-2015 on Sunday. The development has brought relief to the college authorities which were apprehensive about many seats remaining vacant.

The two-hour examination would begin at 10 am. Students have been asked to report at the centres 30 minutes prior to the test. OJEE Chairman Tusharkant Nath said results of the entrance exam would be announced on July 27. Counselling and admission are scheduled to start on July 8. So far, only 12,600 students have gone for choice locking for admission this year, sources said.

The colleges, under the banner Odisha Private Engineering College Association (Opeca) had approached the High Court seeking a special examination for the candidates who did not take the JEE (Main), but seek admission. The court on March 24 said that a special OJEE shall be conducted for seats that would remain vacant after the JEE (Main) counselling.
