The proposed special law for the Lingara Temple would be made on the lines of Shri Jagannath Temple Act, 1954, Bhubaneswar (Ekamra) MLA and Minister Ashok Panda told the media.Replying to a question on the timeframe of the Act, Panda said that it would be a lengthy process as the legislative proposal has to pass through various stages before it becomes an Act.

First, the proposal needs to be approved by the State Cabinet. After passing it in the Assembly, it would be sent to the President of India for the final Act after getting approval from the State Governor, Panda said.
