State Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari has convened an all-party meeting on Monday to discuss the State Government’s proposal to place a vote-of-account for the first three months of 2016-17 and go in for the full Budget after presentation of the Union Budget.

The meeting will also decide on timing of the Budget Session of the Assembly which depends on form of the Budget to come up.

According to sources, the State Government wants to present its budget after taking into account Central allocation for Odisha in 2016-17 Union Budget. This has been necessitated as the State Government would have to fund some Centrally sponsored schemes for which the Centre has either slashed assistance or stopped fully.

leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra, Opposition Chief Whip Taraprasad Bahinipati and BJP legislature Party leader are expected to attend the all party meeting.

Sources said the Assembly Secretariat might submit a fresh proposal to the State Government to convene the Budget Session basing on the decision taken at the meeting. Earlier, the Assembly was scheduled to begin from February 9.
