A three-day exhibition was organised by the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Sriharikota in Baleswar in order to commemorate the celebration of World Space Week.
The Space Week aims to propagate the benefits of Indian space programme. Accordingly, awareness programmes, events and exhibitions in selected places of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Odisha are being organized, said a senior scientist of SDSC.
The exhibition was organised for the first time in Baleswar. Last year it was organised in KIIT campus, Bhubaneswar.
The celebrations feature talks on space programme by eminent personalities.
Other attractions are quiz tests, competitions for school and college students, interactive sessions with ISRO scientists and video shows, etc.
Joining as guest, ITR Director Dr BK Das and FM University VC Madhumita Das encouraged the students and told that India has made a lot of advancements in the field by launching several successful missions.
The students having interest in space science should join the ISRO instead of going abroad, told Das.
