The Samajwadi Party on Friday urged the Food and Civil Supplies Minister to monitor the prices of vegetables so that the common consumer gets vegetables at rational prices.
In the backdrop of the spiralling of vegetable prices, party’s State president Rabi Behera said the flying squad of the Food and Civil Supplies Department may be directed to move from market to market to monitor the prices and book the erring vendors and hoarders under law.
Behera said the Government should take stock of the situation of demand and supply of the vegetables and fix the prices of various vegetables for the benefit of the consumers.
