The Samajwadi Party, Odisha Committee has welcomed the State Government’s decision to suggest to the Union Government to conduct the Socially and Economically Backward Census along with the General Census in 2021.
SP State president Rabi Behera said he had many a time placed demands before the State Government to provide reservations to SCBC and OBC candidates in Government jobs and higher education sectors as per the Article 16 (4) of the Constitution.
“Though delay, the State Cabinet has taken a welcome decision in opting for a SEBC census. People will benefit a lot if the census is conducted,” said Behera.
