Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Jayadev Jena on Wednesday said the All India Congress Committee (AICC) is keeping a very close watch on the activities of party leader Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.
Answering to a query on how Patnaik is undertaking parallel party programmes in various places in the State, Jena said the AICC is closely watching the activities of Patnaik as well as of his (Jena’s). “If anything goes wrong, the party high command would take necessary action at appropriate time,” he said.
Reacting over the High Court order allowing the State Election Commission to start the process of urban local bodies (UlB) polls in time, Jena said the intention of the ruling BJD has been exposed after the court’s verdict.
“The BJD had filed several petitions in High Court through different people to get a stay order on UlB polls,” alleged Jena.
He also remarked that the BJD Government is following the Tamil Nadu line in the matter of announcement of packages and schemes for different classes of people.
