The Rajgangpur police recovered bodies of a woman and her physically-challenged son on Tuesday who allegedly were killed over sorcery suspicion.

The deceased were identified as Subhadra (50) and her son Dipak(23) of Gadhatoli of luhakhaman village under Rajgangpur police station.

On Sunday evening, Subhadra’s husband Bhattar Ekka had gone outside for some work. After he returned to his house at around 8 pm, he did not find Subhadra and son Dipak at home. Bhattar searched for them but in vain. On Monday morning, he informed the villagers about missing of the duo and the same evening, some locals noticed bodies of both Sudhadra and her son in a field, about 150 meters away from their home.

On Tuesday morning, Rajgangpur police recovered the bodies and sent for post mortem. As per primary investigating of police, it was found that Subhadra was involved in practicing witchcraft and it is suspected that she and her son were killed for that reason.

“We are investigating the case...dragging them killed them there by pressing their throats,” Rajgangpur PS IIC said PK Jena.
