Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested Sonepur Wesco SDO office clerk Nakul Chandra Kumbhar for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from Akshya Kumar Nayak of Barapudugia under Balangir Sadar police station for assuring to give him a job of helper in the Electricity Department.
Complainant Nayak, an ITI (Electrical) certificate holder, had done apprentice in Wesco during 2013-14.
Vigilance officers laid a trap and caught Kumbhar red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 20,000 from Nayak at Krishna Net Plaza, Balangir. The investigation was in progress, said an official release.
