Members of the District Bar Association held a demonstration and cease-work in front of the District Civil and Sessions judge here protesting against maltreatment by the IIC Binka to Rampur Bar Association president Ashok Pujahari.
A memorandum was given to SP Prafulla Kumar Patra under the leadership of District Bar Association president Santosh Meher for taking action against the Binka IIC.
Sources said on August 26, Pujahari was coming from Charda village to Rampur when he faced the misbehavior by IIC Kalyani Behera who was patrolling on the way with her team. The police took away Pujahari’s bike. As a result, Pujahari and his friend had to go to the police station on foot. On the other hand, after reaching at the pole station, the police detained him. Meanwhile, the denizens of Binka gave a memorandum with about 600 signatures to the Chief Minister through the local BDO in the support of IIC Kalyani Behera. They alleged that some people with vested interest were blaming the cop intentionally.
