Odisha-born film producer and writer Solila Parida’s Hollywood film Desires of the Heart would be released in India on Friday. Parida hosted a premiere of the film here on Thursday.
Hollywood stars Val lauren and Alicia Minshew along with the Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover and the I am Kalam kid Harsh Mayar are in lead roles.
This film had a market premier at the 67th Cannes Film Festival last year. It has also been travelling to many other International film festivals including lA femme International, Sedona International film festival, Macon film festival and Hoboken film festival.
Parida has already produced many other award-winning films in last 20 years.
“As we always aim to make International movies, taking cultural diversities of two nations and for the global audience, we have strong belief to get good response from the market,” Parida said. India has witnessed so many Sati incidents before in the male dominant society and woman has to sacrifice always, but hardly any film has been made focusing this topic. Desires of the Heart portrays this issue, she informed.
Directed by award-winning director James Kicklighter and co-directed by Rajesh Rathi in India, this will be the first-ever theatrically-released Hollywood film made by the Odia producer.
The film will be released in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar.
