SOG jawans' brutality: PCC team visits N'pada

A team of Congress leaders led by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prasad Harichandan on Saturday visited Khariar in Nuapada district to meet family members of Chittaranjan Sahu, who was beaten to death by jawans of the Special Operation Group (SOG) six days ago.The team also met family members of Nrutyan Nayak, who is seriously injured in the SOG jawans’ attack.

Harichandan said the family members of the deceased are yet to get any compensation. Even the State Government has not taken any step to help injured Nayak.

“Why are such types of incidents happening in the StateIJ Is there any answer from the State GovernmentIJ” asked the PCC chief.       

The team later met the district Collector and the SP in Nuapada to discuss about the incident.Meanwhile, the four arrested SOG jawans, Khusiram Bhoi (team leader) and commandos Sashi Kujur, Pramod Jagdala and Kamadeb Pradhan, were forwarded to a local courtSouth-Western range DIG S Shyni expressed regret about the incident. “We are extremely sorry about the unfortunate incident at the police post inside Sunabeda sanctuary and beg apology to people,” said Shyni, adding, “The investigation is still on.”
