Sociopolitical leader and SNSMT chairman Suparno Satpathy addressed the gathering. He said, “The day has its maximum significance in India, because ours is the only country in the world which has a youth population of 356 million, but it is extremely unfortunate that our unemployed youths too measure to the highest percentage in the world.” He further observed, “Clean water, clean air and clean thoughts are a must for bringing in clean politics.” The Youth Day theme followed by the SNSMT for year 2016 was ‘Youth leading Sustainability’. Sandhya, a young attendee and a volunteer of SNSMT, said, “Today’s event is an eye-opener for us youngsters who came from remote and backward parts of Odisha. We got to learn so much.” Babu, another attendee, said, “I shall be going back to my village equipped with a support mechanism.”
