SMS to monitor teachers' attendance launched

The State Government has launched SMS service to monitor teachers’ attendance in Koraput subdivision, according to Koraput Sub-Collector Samarth Verma.

He said the residential schools managed by the ST and SC Development Department have been asked to send the details of attendance of teachers and students by 11 am everyday by sending an SMS to a given mobile phone number that was operationalised in his office at Koraput.

Out of 95 schools under the subdivision, only 43 schools have been sending messages on a regular basis so far.

While there is a challenge in receiving SMSes from all the schools due to lack of accessibility to mobile phone signals in the remote corners of the region, the headmasters have been informed to send the texts from their respective mobile phones by the specified time and preserve the message at least for the day as a proof of the attempt made to inform and show it to any visitor who might visit the school anytime during the day, informed Verma.
