In view of harmful consequences of the Blue Whale game on the internet, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has prohibited usage of internet and Smartphone in the school premises and school buses.
Following this, use of Smartphone has been restricted in school buses and schools affiliated to the CBSE in Odisha.
Earlier, the CBSE had issued a circular to schools to monitor the use of internet and Smartphones. The school authorities have been asked to allow students to use computers for study purposes only.
The initiative was taken in view of panic created among parents following the rising number of death of children due to the Blue Whale game across the country.
