The demonstration being staged here by the Odisha Basti Sangharsh Samiti to press for distribution of land patta to slum dwellers in all five municipal corporations entered its second day on Thursday.
Many slum dwellers from Brahmapur joined the demonstration today.
They all observed the Ganesha Puja and prayed the lord for ouster of Naveen Patnaik Government in 2019 elections. Over a hundred of slum dwellers of Bhubaneswar handed over applications to Manjula Mohapatra seeking land patta at the earliest. The meeting presided over by Samiti president Pratap Sahoowas attended by RTI activist Sachhikant Pradhan.
Social activist Subash Panda, slum leader Bijaylaxmi Behera, Promod Deb, Rohini Nath, Sukant Mohanty, Litu Panda too slammed the State Government for not providing land patta to slum dwellers.
The Samiti decided to begin a campaign led by social activist Pradeep Pradhan to make people aware of the
anti-slum attitude of the Naveen Patnaik Government in five municipal corporations soon.
