Twin City Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr RP Sharma on Tuesday said deceased doctor Atulya Chandra Meher was the only target of accused Snehaswakhyar Samal.
A state of confusion erupted on Monday after the deceased doctor’s wife Minu Meher in her statement said that accused Samal had warned her husband not to interfere in his scuffle with caretaker’s family. She had also told the police that Samal had told Meher to leave the crime spot.
“The accused was well prepared before coming to the doctor’s house. He had targeted the doctor over treatment expenses of his daughter,” he said quoting Samal’s confession.
