The Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) has launched uniform dress for all technical trainees in the State. The uniform was presented at a fashion show at the Make in Odisha Conclave on Wednesday evening in the presence of OSDA Chairman Subrato Bagchi, Chief Secretary AP Padhi and OSDA Chief Executive Officer Gopalan Rajesh in the midst of industrialists and entrepreneurs.

The trainees themselves presented the uniform. The OSDA Chief Executive Officer said, “The uniform has been designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). A total number of 12 uniforms have been designed out of which six are for boys and six for girls. Two sets of dress, one for formal wear and the other for sportswear, have been designed separately for boys and girls. The colours of ITI, polytechnics and skill development uniforms are different from each other.”

The skill development trainees would have formal dress in purple colour and sports dress in blue colour with bold prints thereon.

It was explained in the show that purple has been chosen to symbolise ‘creativity, wisdom and dignity’ and blue has been chosen to symbolise honesty and trustworthiness.

The ITI trainees would have formal dress in beige colour with peach stripes symbolising ‘calmness and longevity of service’. The colour for polytechnic trainees’ formalwear is navy, grey and burgundy that symbolise confidence, sophistication and determination, respectively.

The trainees of ITI Bhubaneswar, Government polytechnic, Bhubaneswar and skill development team from AISECT and CIPET walked the ramp wearing the uniforms. ‘Skilled in Odisha’ would be a brand for them.
