SJTA ex-chief submits report

After inordinate delay, former Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Suresh Chandra Mohapatra has submitted his report on the ‘Brahma Parivartan’ ritual fiasco during the last Nabakalebar of the holy Trinity, which had triggered a furore in the State.

The report was submitted to the present SJTA Chief Administrator Pradeep Kumar Jena recently. "The report contains names of five Daitapatis and also remarks on servitors who allegedly revealed the ‘secret rituals’ of the lords to the media," said Mohapatra.

He said some suggestion have been made in the report to prevent recurrence of such instances. "The temple administration will discuss the report and take action thereafter."

Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb had recently expressed concern over the delay in submission of the report on the Brahma Parivartan fiasco.

Earlier, the State Government had directed the then SJTA Chief Administrator Mohapatra to submit a report after irregularities and delay in the conduct of the sacred rituals had led to severe resentment among devotees and the people of the State during the Brahma Parivartan of the deities during the Nabakalebar in 2015.

Meanwhile, the servitors have demanded the report to be made public.
