Around 6.28 acres of encroached Idco land was retrieved from encroachers in the Chandrasekharpur area in the city on Friday. On the second day of their operation the joint eviction team consisting of BDA, BMC, IDCO, GA department officials demolished the unauthorised constructions at Ambatota Basti situated over plot number 65 in Chandrasekharpur mouza measuring 6.28 acre.
As many as 63 dwelling houses, five cow shed, two wooden cabins and two temporary shops were demolished by the squad. Notably, all the affected families had received compensation. They all were covered under Rajiv Awas Yojana. The demolition drive was conducted by BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Kumar Patro and other officials. Four platoons of gents APR force and two section of women force were deployed to maintain law and order situation.
