Police on Tuesday arrested two women, who are sisters, for allegedly stealing a 16-day-old boy in Angul district following a raid at a place in Sitarampur village under Champua subdivision of Keonjhar district and rescued the baby. Based on a complaint filed by Sunei and her husband Sushil Munda of Ranjana village under the Pallahara police station on Monday, the police detained the two women Urmi Munda and Sumi Munda for questioning.
The accused women admitted stealing the baby from Sunei, who was sleeping at her house at night on December 13. Sumi, who is childless, and Urmi had planned to lift the baby of their brother.
