Sishu Diwas held as 'black day' in JSpur

RTI activists under the banner of Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhiyan staged demonstration and protest meeting in front of the Collectorate here demanding a CBI probe into the Kunduli minor rape victim case of Koraput district.

The activists decried that the State Government has not been able to nab the culprits involved in the alleged rape of a class 9 student so far. They also alleged that the accused persons in uniform, especially the para military forces, are spared. When the minor rape victim is yet to get justice, the observance of Sishu Diwas is a mockery of children rights and their protection in the State, they said, and held the Children’s Day as black day.

They discarded a judicial probe of the incident as declared by the State Government and demanded a probe by the CBI. Among others, Prashant Routray and Subash Chandra Nayak were present. They also submitted a memorandum for the State Governor through the district Collector.
