A joint eviction squad demolished unauthorised constructions on roadsides from Sishu Bhawan Chhak to Siripur Chhak under the Airfield police station here on Saturday for widening of road from 30 feet to 60 feet.
During the drive, the team consisting of staffs from the BDA, BMC, GA Department, EE (R and B) Division-III and Commissionerate Police razed about 15 boundary walls, two concrete houses, six AC-sheeted houses and five wooden cabins.
A platoon of gents APR force, a section women force and OSSF personnel were engaged to maintain law and order during the demolition drive. BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Kumar Patro, liaisoning Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty and BMC Enforcement Assistant Commissioner Mulla Mahamad Ali were present, among others.
