Sub-Inspectors (SIs) would be in the charge of 216 police outposts in the State. A proposal in this regard has been approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Earlier, Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) were heading the outposts.It is expected that training and crime investigation skills of the SIs would be helpful in curbing crimes at the police outpost level.
