Simran’s husband taken on remand

The Burla police of Sambalpur district on Tuesday took Dhrubaraj Suna, husband of Sambalpur album actor Simran Singh, on a two-day remand in connection with her death.

The Sambalpur Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) allowed the police to take the accused on remand for further interrogation.

Earlier on January 17, the Burla police had put up a ‘Latka’ at the house of Simran’s in-laws at Belpahra in Balangir district after they didn’t appear before police despite being served with notice in this regard.

It may be recalled that Simran had been found dead under a bridge of Mahanadi river near Goira Matha under the Burla police limits in Sambalpur on January 3. Alleging that Simran has been killed, her family members suspected her husband’s involvement in the murder.
