More than a hundred tourists visited the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district on the first day of its opening in the season for public on Sunday.
This year, the STR authorities have added two new features including bamboo huts and a birds’ garden for visitors to the sanctuary. The visitors can get new experience of staying in bamboo huts, said Regional Chief Conservator of Forests and STR Field Director Anup Kumar Nayak. He further said the tourists would have entertainment at the bird’s garden at Jamuani inside the STR. “There are four different attractive packages for tourists who come to here,” said Nayak.
Due to heavy flow of water in the Barehipani waterfalls, said an STR official, the tourists could enjoy the scene from a very close distance. The tourists would definitely enjoy the tour packages, he added.
