The Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district was closed for tourists for an indefinite period due to unseasonal rain and fog.
The park would remain closed with effect from Monday till further order, informed Similipal National Park Deputy Director Sai Kiran DN. Barely a fortnight after reopening of the wildlife sanctuary for visitors, entry into the park was restricted due to rainfall and fog. The park had reopened for tourists from November 1 with Covid restrictions after a six-month-long closure since May this year
