As many as 11 people have been injured including three undergoing treatment in the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, following monkey attack in Pankapal village under Kujanga block, 60 km from here. Reports said that the villagers have chosen staying indoors over past one week due to the monkey menace in their area. The Kujanga Forest Department launched a drive to capture the marauding monkeys creating nuisance in the region but didn't succeed.
Protesting the apathy of the administration, the villagers, meanwhile, resorted to a road blockade at Pankapala on the Cuttack-Paradip State Highway. But after the civil administration assured to end the problem soon, the stir was withdrawn.
