The Biju Patnaik International Airport observed the World Environment Day with much enthusiasm here on Thursday with Additional Chief Secretary UN Behera inaugurating the event.
General Administration Department Special Secretary Niten Chandra, Communication and Transport Secretary G Mathi Vathanan, Tourism Secretary Dr AK Padhee, School and Mass Education Secretary Usha Padhee and Ex-Aviation Secretary Vivek Pattanayak, among others, graced the event and participated in a signature campaign held on the occasion.
Behera and Airport Director Sharad Kumar distributed saplings to the arriving passengers and encouraged them to participate in the signature drive and take oath for saving the environment by nurturing the saplings given to them.
