The State Government has appointed IFS officer Siddhanta Das as Chairperson, Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).
The Housing and Urban Development Department has issued a notification in this regard.
The post was lying vacant since Amiya Mohapatra left the post.
Das, after superannuation, was serving as Member, National Green Tribunal (NGT). He was earlier Director General of Forests and Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Das had successfully worked in different Central and State level positions.
Das has many challenges to face as the RERA would play vital role in regulating the sector, which has been adversely impacted due to Covid-19 pandemic.
