Vigilance officials on Sunday arrested Sub-Inspector Sunil Kujur and Home Guard Sushama Dash of the Padampur police station in Bargarh district and forwarded them to the Special Vigilance Judge Court for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 4,000.
The SI and the Home Guard had demanded the bribe from the complainant Kalia Dwari of Charpali village not to forward him and his family members in a civil dispute case. Getting no other alternative, Dwari reported the matter to the Vigilance.
A trap was laid, and both Kujur and Dash were caught red-handed by Vigilance officers. The investigation is in progress.
