Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi on Thursday issued a show-cause notice to the Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 here for holding classes during summer vacation.
The principal of the school has been asked to reply to the notice within three days, failing which action as per law shall be initiated against him.
Besides, the principal has been directed to extend summer vacation in the school till June 25.
The SRC issued the notice enclosing a news clipping of a leading Odia daily, in which a report regarding holding of classes in the school during the vacation was published on Thursday.
Notably, in view of the heat wave conditions prevailing in the State, the Government had issued a direction for extension of summer vacation of all schools initially till June 21 and subsequently till June 25.
