The Commissionerate police on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to the Nayapally police station Inspector-in-Charge Suryanaryan Swain and suspended police station Sub-Inspector NC Swain over the death of a Salia Sahi teenager Eshak Digal in a road mishap on June 6.
Eshak had been injured in the mishap and rushed to the Capital Hospital by police, but later was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, where he succumbed to his injuries. But as his family was not informed about all this, they did not have clue about his whereabouts.
After the body remained unclaimed, the Cuttack police cremated it after three days. His family came to know about the incident after 10 long days.
Residents of Salia Sahi held a demonstration before the Nayapally PS demanding stringent action against the errant cops.
