In yet another incident of the deteriorating law and order situation in Baleswar, armed miscreants on Sunday fired shots at a hotel in the town.
Sources said the unidentified miscreants barged into the Jaika Hotel located on OT Road under the Sadar police station and terrorised the employees at gunpoint.
Before fleeing, they opened nearly three rounds of fire at the hotel, as a result of which the hotel’s front glass was shattered. But there were no reports of anyone being injured.
The motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained. Police rushed to the spot and began investigations.
