A home appliances and furniture shop owner has allegedly duped customers of more than Rs 3 crore in Basudebpur block of Bhadrak district. The matter came to light after some customers found the furniture shop locked on Saturday.
Reports said that a few days back, the shop owner had advertised a discount offer.
He announced that customers would get a discount of 45 per cent if they paid the full amount of an item and book it 12 days prior to purchase.
Lured by the offer, many people booked for fridges, dressing tables and sofa sets. Now, they are shocked after finding the shop locked.
Though no police complaint has been lodged till filing of this report, customers alleged that they were defrauded by the shop owner.
