Union Shipping Secretary Vishwapati Trivedi on Thursday visited the harbour area of the Paradip Port on board a tugboat.
Trivedi studded the infrastructure facilities available in the Port to cater to the need of the shipping industry at present and also got apprised of the various projects on the anvil for creation of new cargo handling facilities for further expansion of the Port.
PPT chairman Sudhanshu Sekhara Mishra along with other senior officers of the Port explained the Union Secretary about the present operational systems and functioning of the Port for handling of diversified cargo profile. After visiting harbour at Paradip, Trivedi visited the Puri lighthouse and held discussions with lighthouse and lightships Deputy Secretary E Murthy.
