The Dakshina Odisha Unnayan Parishad has severely criticsied the Ministry of Railways for annulling the approved proposal to establish a rail wagon factory at Sheetalpallin in Ganjam district and termed the decision as ‘sheer negligence’ towards south Odisha.
“The Union Government has shown step-motherly attitude towards Ganjam by cancelling the rail wagon factory at Sheetalpalli. It is disappointing that the Union Government is not implementing the decision taken during the earlier Government which would have created jobs for youths and accelerated development in the regional level,” said Parishad convenor Rabi Rath.
Rath said while the Railways is getting huge amounts of revenue from Odisha , the decision to cancel the proposal is an example of negligence. With the decision, a full stop has been put to the people of the south Odisha.
