She designs dress for hapless kids like mom

Growing up in an environment far off home, Rachana Mohapatra always longs for a designer’s dress. And she wore one recently, thanks to Vaishali Sethi, an ace designer and a caring mother.

Her face was glowing, when she came out attired in the newly fashioned outfit, which gives her comfort and a show of elegance.

The silhouette of dress Rachna wore was in Anarkali style with 40 Kalis enhanced with mirror work and brocade with round neckline.

Vaishali is an ace professional designer. Wife of a bureaucrat Bishnupada Sethi, she has all along designed outfits loved by women and children.

“While designing dresses, she gives extra personal touch so that it looks different and catches eye ball of the onlooker. But she never does it for business. It is her pure love for these loving souls that Vaishali designs dresses so as to find them happy,” said Bishnupada Sethi.

The 19-year- old Rachna is not the only fortunate to have designers’ dressing. Archana Kaul, Shini Nayak, Chandrarani Sahu, Indira Priyadarshini and a number of inmates in the SOS Children’s Home here are happy to wear nice dresses with latest design to match their counterparts in the colleges.

At least 24 teen-aged girls in the age group of 15 to 23 years had the occasion to dress up like Rachana. All these girls were having heartfelt appreciation for Vaishali. All the outfits were in floral prints with different trendy color combinations of red, black, magenta, blue and peach.

Though all these were of Anarkali style, but they had different colour combinations, with necklines like square, round, overlap and sweet heart etc. The outfits were designed by Vaishali who was inspired by a strong family environment of the loving and caring home at the SOS Children’s village to design dresses for the girls, six months back.

Accompanied by her assistants, she took measurements and ordered for the fabric and other materials from Delhi and other places.  Ajay Dash, Head of the SOS Children’s Home, thanked Vaishali for her noble endeavor of making these inmates happy.
