1986-batch IPS officer Dr RP Sharma assumed charge as the new Director of State Vigilance here on Wednesday. Dr Sharma, who had a successful tenure as the twin city Commissioner of Police, was promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) last week.
Taking charge as the 27th head of the anti-corruption wing of the State police, Dr Sharma said he would work towards widening the sources of information by utilising the social media to a great extent. "My effort would also be to improve the conviction rate of the Vigilance cases with proper and scientific investigation," Dr Sharma said.
